Business setup questions

What is the difference between mainland, free zone and offshore?
A mainland licence lets you trade across the UAE market. Free zones offer sector focused packages within a defined zone. Offshore structures are generally used for holding purposes without a UAE physical office. The right choice depends on your activity, customers and visa needs.
Can a foreigner own 100 percent of a UAE company?
Full foreign ownership is available for many mainland activities and within free zones, but it depends on the specific activity. We confirm what applies to the business you intend to run before you commit.
What documents do I need to set up a company?
Typically shareholder passports, proposed trade names and the intended business activity. Depending on the structure and activity you may also need attested documents such as degrees, or a power of attorney.
How long does company formation take?
It depends on the jurisdiction, the activity and whether extra ministry approvals are needed. We set out the expected steps and a realistic timeline with your quote rather than quoting a headline figure.
How much does it cost?
There is no single package price, because the correct structure depends on activity, ownership, office, visa and banking needs. Our quotation separates government, free zone, office, visa and ClearDocs service fees wherever possible so you can see what you are paying for.
Do you handle the documents as well as the licence?
Yes. Translation, attestation and notarisation that the formation process requires are coordinated by the same team.
